Taming the Warlord
By Sarah Ashwood
Some year long ago
There was a young maid
Beloved by a warlord
With axe, shield, and blade
On meeting her once
He inquired of her name
She did not reply
He was far too untame
But being a warlord
Of barbarian stock
He swept her right up
Alas, she was caught!
On taking her home
He made her his bride
But quickly found out
He hadn’t been wise
For all her sweet looks
Her frail girlish charms
Her backbone was steel
As hard as his arms
With tantrums and smiles
With kisses and tears
She molded, she broke him
And taught him true fear
At present the warlord
Once barbarian, he
Is now a quite passive
Proud father of three
The bride he has chosen
And given his name
For all she was mere woman
The warlord did tame
